It is very worrying to think that anyone can offer grooming services and handle and take care of your beloved dog in a salon. When choosing your groomer it is very important to make sure they are qualified and have the correct experience and knowledge.
Qualifications
Minnie has a Level 3 Diploma in Dog Grooming and Salon Management, awarded by the prestigious iPet Network; an Ofqual and CCEA regulated awarding organisation. iPet Network qualifications come with a tight quality assurance process but more importantly the criteria is set by industry experts.
This qualification covers the following topics:

· Promoting the Welfare of Dogs and Conforming with Legislation
· Customer Care
· Dog Grooming Styles and Equipment
· Health Checking
· Handling and Canine Behaviour
· Canine Emergency First Aid
Minnie’s Story
'I began my career in the travel industry with Thomson as an in-store Travel Advisor and during my time there progressed to store Manager. I left this position to join the TUI Cabin Crew team based at Newcastle Airport. In 2011 I gave up my wings and joined Ion Originals Ltd in Alnwick, as Business Manager and have been part of the team there since.
With the date of my youngest child starting full time school approaching I began to think about what was next for me in my career. I have always dreamed of owning my own business; something I could create, nurture and build using the business skills I have gained throughout my employment. With my love for dogs and passion for offering exceptional customer service, Minnie’s Dog Grooming was born.
Having researched training providers and qualification options, I came across My Dog Barber, offering the iPet Network Diploma. Owner Tim has over 12 years experience in the dog grooming industry and he has admirably built four elite salons across the North East. His salons create a warm and welcoming experience putting the dogs at ease; everything has been designed with them in mind and the equipment and products used are the best on the market. Tim and his team work closely with owners to find the correct package and pace that works for them and their pets.
Having honed both his grooming and business skills he has created a training academy that is committed to passing on this knowledge and experience. When I visited the Jesmond salon and academy I knew instantly it was where I was going to study; the experience, knowledge, attention to detail and professionalism Tim and his wonderful team display is inspirational. I really have been fortunate to learn my practical grooming skills from some of the best groomers in the North East and I hope to replicate their excellent service in my own business.”
