We welcome your dog to be groomed and cared for at Minnie's Dog Grooming within the conditions outlined below. By booking a service with us you are accepting these conditions, so please read them carefully prior to securing your appointment.
At Minnie's Dog Grooming your dog’s health & welfare is our priority, this is reflected in our services and policies; they are in place to protect your dog and us.
Booking Policy
• Any complaints towards your dogs groom must be brought to our attention within 48 hours following the grooming appointment has been completed. You will be invited back into the salon to discuss your concerns and for any corrections to be made.
• All pre-existing health conditions must be discussed with us prior to grooming.
• All dogs are groomed at the owners risk.
• We retain the right to refuse grooming to a dog which we believe is too unwell/unfit/aggressive/nervous to be groomed.
• If we have to end a grooming appointment early and a dog is mid-way through a groom, we reserve the right to charge for the full appointment depending on the circumstances, at our discretion. We may ask you to bring your dog back another time as soon as possible in order to complete the groom if it cannot be completed within the allotted time.
• Behavioural issues must be honestly disclosed prior to grooming. Failure to do so may result in extra charges if extra time or an additional groomer is required to complete the groom.
• We reserve the right to terminate a groom should the dog be too fearful or stressed to continue, or the dog poses a risk to itself or us.
• Nervous dogs are welcome, a rehabilitation programme may be recommended; this will require more frequent appointments and will help your dog build the confidence to be groomed in a relaxed and comfortable manner.
• Sometimes groomers can discover health/skin/dental issues which you may not have been aware of previously. If we discover any issues or concerns, these will be disclosed to you upon collection, for you to then seek veterinary advice.
• We cannot be held responsible or liable for the discovery of ailments or issues during the grooming process. Advice may be given, however we have no medical training and we are not a vets. We cannot and will not diagnose or treat your dog for any medical issues.
• By booking a grooming appointment owners confirm that their dog is up to date with their annual vaccinations against Canine Distemper, Infectious Canine Hepatitis, Leptospirosis, and Canine Parvovirus. An unvaccinated dog may put itself and others at risk. We take no responsibility for any dog that may contract any of the aforementioned diseases. We may ask for proof of vaccination and veterinary information which must be provided.
• Great care is taken and strict health and safety procedures are in place, accidents thankfully are very rare, but do happen. In the event of an emergency, you consent to us seeking medical attention. This will be at owners cost. We will always contact you as soon as possible.
• We are unable to groom pregnant bitches (cancellation policy applies).
Elderly Dogs
Great care is taken to ensure the safety and well being of all dogs in our care. Grooming can be a stressful process particularly for elderly dogs. Such pets can be more susceptible to injury, illness or in rare cases death during or after grooming. By agreeing to our services you acknowledge these risks. We shall not be held responsible or held liable for any loss, including injury, illness or death, that may occur as a result of pre-existing conditions or the natural decline associated with age.
Parasite & Flea Policy
If you discover your dog has fleas prior to your appointment, please let us know as soon as possible. We will rearrange appointments for dogs with fleas wherever we can to prevent contamination. It is possible however, that we only discover fleas on your dog when bathing or grooming has already commenced. In this instance, we will continue to groom your dog, however we have to use preventative measures to stop the spread of them to other animals in our care. Dogs presented with fleas will be bathed in a flea-repellent shampoo, unless asked not to. A £10-£20 charge will be added to your total groom price depending on the severity to cover the cost of additional measures to clean equipment and fumigate the salon.
If we discover a tick on your dog’s coat during a groom we will contact you, we cannot always guarantee that 100% of the tick is removed in the salon and you may need to seek further advice from a vet. Additional charges may apply if additional time is required to perform a groom due to ticks being present.
If we suspect your dog is suffering with any other form of parasite, we will contact you as soon as possible. We may apply the same policy per our ill or infirm dogs or as per the flea policy above.
Deposit, Cancellation and No Show Policy
We understand that things pop up, life sometimes gets in the way and that appointments may need to be rearranged, We will always do our best to accommodate. To protect the business from loss, which I am sure you can understand, a non-refundable £20 deposit is required to secure an appointment. This £20 is then deducted from the amount payable on the day of the groom.
We will send a text or email reminder of your booking in advance of your appointment.
Please note the following terms apply:
Cancel/rearrange more than 48hrs before scheduled appointment time: £20 deposit will be transferred to the re-arranged appointment.
Cancel within 48hrs (but prior to 24hrs) of scheduled appointment time: Loss of £20 deposit.
Cancel within 24hrs/No show: Full fee of service booked is charged.
If you would like to book an appointment following a cancellation within 24hrs/a no-show, please note you will be required to pay for the next appointment upon booking in addition to your missed booking.
Pricing and Payment Policy
All appointments require a £20 deposit, this is then deducted from the amount payable on the day of the groom. The prices on our website are a guide price and I will provide a more accurate quote once I have assessed your dog and we have discussed your styling requirements. Additional charges apply for: late arrival/collection, parasites and fleas, matting, aggressive and nervous dogs.
Late Arrival & Late Collection Policy
Appointment times are carefully scheduled for grooms in order to achieve a high standard in a stress-free environment. We ask customers to respectfully attend their appointments on time. If you are unable to attend an appointment on-time, we will try to accommodate your dog as much as possible, however this can result in the whole groom not being performed if we run out of time. A short follow-up appointment to complete the groom may be required and there will be an additional charge for this. If you are running 15 minutes or more late, we have the right to refuse to groom and it will be treated as a no show.
When dropping off your dog we will advise an approximate collection time, we will then contact you 15 minutes prior to completion so you can make your way back to the salon. If you are running late to collect your dog please do let us know as soon as possible. We will of course take good care of your dog while we wait for you to return, however in the event you are more than fifteen minutes late a late collection charge will apply.
Matted Dog Policy
We understand that life is very busy and sometimes it can be very hard to keep on top of your dog’s coat at home and matting can easily occur, often without you even realising.
Matting can cause irritation and sores if left untreated. Mild matting can be painful, however in severe cases, it can cut the circulation to your pet’s skin and cause harmful haematomas.
At our discretion small areas of minimal matting can be brushed out for a maximum of 15 minutes on dogs that are comfortable with the procedure.
In the event that your dog’s coat needs to be clipped down due to severe matting, We are not liable for any post grooming effects such as skin irritation or redness (clipper rash). This process will result in a very short coat length, however much more comfortable for your dog.
Always Humanity over Vanity.
We will always check your dogs coat whilst you are still in the salon and discuss any matting, however if once the groom commences and the severity of the matting becomes more apparent we will call the primary person on file (or any other contacts we have for your pet prior to carrying out any de-matting or shaving). If we cannot reach you we will perform the process required for the severity of the matted coat.
Additional charges apply to cover the additional groom time and the wear and tear this process has on equipment. This will be charged at either £5 for small areas of matting (ie tail or behind ears), £10 for a large area (body) and £20 for a full clip down (nose to tail).
I will ask you to sign a waiver. If you decide not to agree to this, your appointment will be treated as a cancellation within 24hrs and full payment will be required.
We can provide advice on how to maintain and care for your dogs coat from home and we can discuss a grooming schedule and work towards achieving the desired look in future grooms.
Nail Trimming Policy
At Minnie’s Dog Grooming, nail trimming is offered as a complimentary service when included as part of a full groom or bathing appointment. This is provided at no additional charge and is carried out where it is safe and appropriate to do so.
While every effort is made to ensure your dog’s comfort, some dogs may feel anxious or uncomfortable having their paws handled or nails trimmed. As Minnie’s Dog Grooming is a single-groomer salon, there may be limitations in safely restraining and calming a distressed dog during the appointment.
If, at any point, your dog becomes overly stressed, anxious, or uncooperative, the groomer reserves the right to discontinue the nail trimming service in the interest of the dog’s welfare and overall safety. This decision is made to prevent injury or undue distress to both the dog and the groomer.
In such cases, we may recommend gradual familiarisation with paw handling at home to help your dog become more comfortable with the process. Alternatively, a visit to your veterinarian for nail trimming may be advised if additional support or restraint is required.

Emmi Pet Ultra Sonic Teeth Cleaning
By booking an Emmi pet Teeth appointment, I understand that:
This method of dental cleaning is highly effective in removing mild tartar, improving gums, breath odour and overall oral health, Minnie’s Dog Grooming cannot guarantee the results, effectiveness, or suitability for individual pets due to varying external factors. If dogs become distressed or we discover anything likely to cause discomfort to your pet, we will discontinue immediately and inform you. The best approach to solve this will then be discussed with you. Each pet will have its own tooth brush head that will not be used on another dog. This is purchased at the initial treatment and will be replaced after 25 treatments or sooner if required. Some pets may chew the brush head, if this is excessive it may need replacing sooner to maintain effectiveness. Brush heads will require replacing after 1 year regardless of number of times they have been used. If we feel any teeth are loose or at risk of becoming loose when the tartar comes off we may request you get your pets’ teeth checked at your veterinarian before treatment. It is possible that the tartar build up will be too great and then a veterinary dental may be necessary initially and then follow up ultrasonic maintenance visits with us. We cannot be held responsible for any problems occurring from poor dentition before, during or after any ultrasonic treatments .At Minnie’s dog grooming ultrasonic treatment is not a veterinary procedure and we cannot diagnose any problems with your dogs mouth. Please have any advisories checked by your veterinarian. The effectiveness of the ultrasound teeth cleaning is based on frequency and that optimum oral health might only be achieved by keeping to the frequency recommended by Minnie’s Dog Grooming.
