At Minnie's Dog Grooming, our mission is to provide the best pet grooming services possible. We understand that no two dogs are the same and that's why all services are tailored to suit your dogs individual needs and lifestyle. We believe that every pet deserves to look and feel their best, and we are committed to making that happen for your furry friend!

Who’s Minnie?

Rachel (aka Minnie) has achieved a Level 3 Diploma in Dog Grooming and Salon Management and is a Certified Canine Emergency First Aider. Minnie has a true love for dogs, she is passionate and dedicated to making your pet's grooming experience a positive one.

Do I need to book a consultation?

Prior to booking a grooming appointment with Minnie’s Dog Grooming a consultation will be required; this will help us to understand your dog’s requirements and allows us to allocate the correct time for the appointment. This can be done over the phone or by message and then in more depth in the salon when you arrive for the appointment. Unless there are any changes - a consultation is not required for subsequent grooms.

How do I book an appointment?

How much will my dogs groom cost?

We have a large range of services tailored to suit your dog and lifestyle. Please take a look at our price guide which can be found here, a quote will then be provided following a consultation.

Do I need to pay a deposit?

A £20 deposit secures your appointment, should you wish to amend your booking a 48hr notice is required for this deposit to be transferred. Please see our booking policy for more details.

What are my styling options?

You can choose from a short smooth clip off for low maintenance, a ‘Lamb Style’- short but fluffy, or a fuller ‘Teddy Bear’ cut, a breed standard groom (or an adapted version) and for double coats a de-shed and scissor trim tailored to your requirements.

My dog is tatty and matted, can you help?

Yes, we can! We can assess your dog’s coat and discuss how we can help depending on the severity of the matting. Please see our de-matting policy for more information.

How soon can I bring my puppy to be groomed?

You can arrange a puppy experience as soon as your puppy has been vaccinated! You can find out more about our puppy experience here.

My dog has sensitive skin, can they be groomed?

Yes, we have a range of mild and natural products for dogs with sensitive skin.

My dog has fleas, can they be groomed?

If your dog has fleas please treat them prior to their appointment. Our flea policy can be found here.

My dog is very anxious and/or aggressive, can you help?

We understand that sometimes grooming can be a difficult experience for some dogs. Nervous dogs are welcome, we will carry out an anxiety assessment and a rehabilitation programme can then be recommended. Please get in touch to discuss this.

My bitch is pregnant can she still be groomed?

Sorry no, it wouldn’t be safe to groom a pregnant bitch.

How often should I have my dog groomed?

A good grooming routine will help to maintain your dog’s healthy coat and skin. Regular visits will also help your dog to establish a trusted relationship with their groomer and puts them at ease in the salon environment. At your appointment we will recommend a grooming schedule, this is usually between 6-10 weeks depending on their coat type.

Where is the salon? How do I get there and where can I park?

The salon is located on Cross Street in Amble, NE65 0EY. Head down Queen Street and turn right at Queen Street Convenience Store (formerly Little's Newsagents), the salon is located on the right.

There is limited parking on Queen Street and behind Tesco. There is also free parking at the Marina which is an ideal short walk away, allowing your dog to exercise and go to the toilet prior to their groom.

Is the salon accessible?

There are two steps up into the salon, if you require assistance at the door please ring the bell. If the salon is not accessible or you are unable to get to the salon please get in touch and we will do my upmost to help.

What are your opening times?

The salon is open most Tuesdays, Fridays and Saturdays- and often in between- depending on the appointment schedule. If you would like to chat or view the salon please get in touch to arrange this at a time to suit you or of course please call in when we are open.

Are you qualified and insured?

Minnie has an iPet Network Level 3 Dog Grooming Diploma and a canine first aid certificate. You can find out more here. Minnie’s Grooming has a full liability cover in place.

Do you have any loyalty schemes or offer any discounts?

We offer a loyalty scheme, collect a stamp each time your dog visits for a bath or a full groom, on your 6th visit you will receive a 50% off!
